Glow Worm East is opening soon!
We are looking for amazing part and full time crew members for our East End location at 11603 Hazelwood Rd. These crew members will be available to work 15-25 hours or 32-40 hours per week, and must be available for shifts during the hours of 7:00am-7:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am-5:00pm on weekends.
Job Responsibilities
Welcome all guests into the cafe and provide top-notch customer service
Check in customers for play sessions, sell memberships, obtain waivers from customers and/or check our system for existing waivers and customer notes
Take cafe orders from customers, prepare drinks, warm and plate pre-prepped food
Run food to customers
Stock food and drink cases, clean coffee bar, sweep floors — just keep things stocked, nice, and tidy!
Get to know our retail brands and feel comfortable selling clothing and other goods to customers
Use a point of sale system and become knowledgeable about our app; record all sales and balance the cash drawer with receipts at the end of shift
Set up and breakdown classroom and party room
Sanitize equipment in play area, empty trash cans, clean bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, do dishes — always be cleanin’!
Other duties as assigned
Abilities and Skills
Customer service experience
Ability to work well with others and leave drama at the door
Restaurant and/or coffee shop experience a plus, but not required
Willingness and ability to learn quickly
Speak with customers in person, over the phone, and via email
Stand for long periods of time without sitting
Carry out proper cleaning and sanitization tasks (Food management or handling certification is a huge plus!)
Proficiency to operate a point-of-sale system
Lift / carry 10lbs or less constantly; lift / carry 11-20lbs frequently; lift / carry 21-50lbs occasionally
Ability to use stairs without assistance as we have a second floor
Must have reliable transportation. At this time, we do not allow our employees to bring their children to work, as we work in a fast paced environment and are a food service establishment.

About Us
Glow Worm Play Cafe started as a children’s clothing pop-up in 2017. Our focus was and remains on ethically made goods from around the world. In 2021, Glow Worm began construction on a brick and mortar and opened in November 2021 as Louisville’s first play cafe — an indoor playground for kids with a cute and comfy lounge for parents to hang out in. Glow Worm offers a specialty retail section, food and beverages (locally sourced coffee and tea, sweet treats from our in-house baker), a play area, community classes, and party rentals. Our focus is on community — we love to bring people together!
