Summer Camps at Glow Worm

Welcome to your one stop shop for campers age 3 to 8!

From Little Learners half day camp for age 3 to 5, to Camp Glow Worm full and half day camps for age 4 to 8, there’s something for (almost) everyone this summer at Glow Worm.

*Please note that camp will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025 in observance of Independence Day. Field trip locations are subject to change before the week of camp begins.

Meet Our Camp Leaders

  • Katie

    Camp Manager

    Katie is the founder or Glow Worm Cafe & Play and is responsible for activity planning and all of the behind-the-scenes administrative work that goes into planning the camps! She’s your first point of contact for questions involving our camps and your campers.

  • Sydney

    Head Counselor

    Sydney is an experienced childcare provider, parent support specialist & certified free play facilitator. She also leads the Parents Day Out program at Glow Worm, and is one of our facilitators for Cocoon, a weekly new parent group at Glow Worm.

The Details

AGE REQUIREMENTS & COST

Little Learners Camp is for potty trained kids age 3 to 5. We accept 10 campers per session. We offer half day camp for Little Learners, June 2-6 from either 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm. Little Learners Camp is $165/child.

Camp Glow Worm is for age 4 to 8. We accept 10 campers per session. Campers must be fully potty-trained and must turn 4 on or before June 1, 2025. We offer full day and half day camps for Camp Glow Worm.

LITTLE LEARNERS CAMP - HALF DAY SCHEDULE

Littler Learners (age 3-5) half day camps are Monday-Friday from 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm.

Little Learners Camp is $165/child which includes:

  • Half day camp from either 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm

  • AM or PM snack

  • Daily programming and indoor/outdoor play time

  • All supplies & activities

A 50% deposit is required to hold your camper’s spot. This deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to backfill your spot from our waitlist.

CAMP GLOW WORM - FULL DAY SCHEDULE

Camp Glow Worm (age 4-8) full day camps are Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Weekly rates for full day camps are $325/child which includes:

  • Full day camp from 8:30AM to 4:30PM

  • AM/PM snack

  • Daily programming

  • Weekly field trip & pizza party

  • All supplies & activities

A 50% deposit is required to hold your camper’s spot. This deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to backfill your spot from our waitlist.

Superhero Academy camp is listed at a reduced rate due to the short holiday week, and does not have a half day option due to the reduced schedule.

CAMP GLOW WORM - HALF DAY SCHEDULE

Camp Glow Worm (age 4-8) half day camps are Monday-Friday from 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm.

Weekly rates for half day camps are $165/child which includes:

  • Half day camp from either 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm

  • AM or PM snack

  • Daily programming

  • Weekly field trip* & pizza party

There is no half day camp available for Superhero Week.

*Field trips will most likely occur in the morning hours, but we will also have weekly “in-house field trips” — for example: Kentucky Reptile Zoo visit, Squallis Puppeteers visit, etc. The in-house field trips will occur in the afternoon.

Camp Glow Worm Half Day Schedule

  • Camp Hours: 9am-4pm

  • AM Drop off: 8:45am-9:00am

  • AM Pick up: 12:30pm

  • PM Drop off: 12:30pm

  • PM Pick up: 3:45pm-4:00pm

  • Programming: 9:00am-4:00pm

CAMP AGENDA

Daily: Art projects, games, STEM activities, indoor & outdoor play time

Weekly: Guest speaker & themed activity, field trip*, music & movement

*Little Learners will not have a field trip.

WHAT TO BRING

Sack lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, comfy clothes & shoes, and any medications your child needs during camp hours. Field trip specifics will be provided for each week and we’ll let you know if there’s anything additional you may need!

FAQ

  • Nope! All campers meet in our classroom in the morning, and they will have the following daily activities in the classroom:

    • Art

    • STEM

    • Music & Movement

    • Lunch & Snack

    Campers will enjoy nature walks in our neighborhood & play time at Patterson Playground (0.4 miles from Glow Worm). Any time the kids leave the building, the ratio of adults to children will be at least 4:1.

    Campers will also take weekly field trips as well as have special visitors at Glow Worm.

    Lastly, campers will spend time daily in our new community garden.

  • Field trips are included in the cost of your camp fee. The ratio of campers to adults for field trips is at least 4:1. Parents will be made aware of the field trip time and location before the start of their weekly camp.

    Field trips will most likely occur in the morning hours, but we will also have weekly “in-house field trips” — for example: Kentucky Reptile Zoo visit, Squallis Puppeteers visit, etc. The in-house field trips will occur in the afternoon.

    Campers will be transported safely by a professional charter bus company.

    Little Learners camp for age 3-5 will not take an offsite field trip.

  • Nope! We will have a dedicated play session for campers twice weekly, and they will be supervised by head camp counselor and the assistant counselor. Campers will not be in the same play sessions as non-camp Glow Worm patrons. Camper access to the Play Patio is dependent on the weather.

  • We will provide healthy and yummy snacks from our commercial kitchen, such as veggies and dip, hummus and pita, fruit, or a special order from our baker. All snacks will be allergy-friendly.

  • To better accommodate our customers and their family structures, as well as provide more opportunities for families in our community, we made the decision to open our camps to children age 4 to age 8. Campers may be split into small groups based on their age to allow for age-appropriate activities that are sure to engage and entertain their growing minds!
