Role: Childcare Assistant
Pay Rate: $18/hr
Type: Part Time (10 hours per week)
Availability: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:30am-1:30pm
Reports to: Childcare Program Manager

Overview:

This is an assistant position for our Part Time Pals program beginning in January. Part Time Pals is from January to May and occurs every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 1pm. The ideal childcare assistant should be enthusiastic about working with children age 2 to 5 and bring a positive attitude and willingness to engage in play with children. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Report directly to our Childcare Program Manager

• Assist students with daily activities, including arts & crafts, free play, lunch, and other duties as assigned

• Ability to maintain supervision of children at all times

• Assist in enforcing safety and house rules

• Cleaning & organization of classroom during and in between activities, and at the end of the day

• Ability to keep a welcoming & positive attitude

• Ability to follow instructions

• A passion for working with children, coupled with a commitment to engaging in play and learning alongside them

• A respect for children’s dignity, reflected in how adults communicate with, guide, and support them

• A belief in empowering children, ensuring they have the freedom to make meaningful decisions

• Communicate effectively with your direct supervisor

• Collaborate with team members to provide the best experience for the campers and their parents

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18

• Experience working with children

• Standing for long periods of time

• Ability to handle a high volume of noise

• CPR certification & ability to pass a background check

Job Title: Crew Member

You leave drama at the door and are comfortable addressing potential issues with confidence.

Job Responsibilities

• Welcome all guests into the cafe and provide top-notch customer service

• Check in customers for play sessions, sell memberships, obtain waivers from customers and/or check our system for existing waivers and customer notes

• Take cafe orders from customers, prepare drinks, warm and plate pre-prepped food

• Stock food and drink cases, clean coffee bar, sweep floors — just keep things stocked, nice, and tidy!

• Get to know our retail brands and feel comfortable selling clothing and other goods to customers

• Help setup and breakdown for events and birthday parties

• Use a point of sale system to record all sales and balance the cash drawer with receipts at the end of shift

• Sanitize equipment in play area, empty trash cans, clean bathrooms, sweep playroom floors — always be cleanin’!

• Other duties as assigned

Abilities and Skills

• Must have availability for shifts from 8am-1pm or 1pm-6:30pm

• Can-do attitude

• No task is too small! You take initiative and get things done right.

• Customer service experience

• Restaurant and/or coffee shop experience a plus, but not required

• Willingness and ability to learn quickly

• Speak with customers in person and over the phone

• Stand for long periods of time without sitting

• Carry out proper cleaning and sanitization tasks

• Proficiency to operate a point-of-sale system

• Lift / carry 10lbs or less constantly; lift / carry 11-20lbs frequently; lift / carry 21-50lbs occasionally

• Must have reliable transportation
